SJ SN flywheel removal..

Like the title says.. SJ SN flywheel removal.. Need to replace my Bendix and want to know if I need any special tool to remove my flywheel. I'm thinking of removing the gas tank and using an impact gun to remove the bolt. But need to know if I'll run into a hard time removing the flywheel.

Yes, you need to remove the FW to replace the bendix. No way around that.

Remove the gas tank - that should be enough to pull the FW.

You need a flywheel removal tool - there is no way around it.

It's called a harmonic balancer puller. Any decent automotive store will have one.

you often have to add the proper bolts to the typical $20 auto parts store kit though, they come with crappy bolts even if they are the right thread.

make sure the nose of the thing ( center bolt) doesnt push the flywheel on harder.

some have a nose cone that comes on and off, and it will prevent you from pulling the flywheel if it doesnt clear.
