SJ midshaft coupler help

I know that there are different size shafts for the midshaft but I dont know where the change is.
One is smaller and one is the same size as the crank right?

Any one know which is which?

Yes, a change was made when they went to the Round nose back in 96. The shaft is shorter in 96 and newer. The bolt pateren on the bearing housing is different. I think the couple are the same.

I think that the shaft size is different too.....Can anyone confirm this?

Shaft thread diameter is smaller 90-93.

Also, the midshaft coupler has one identical part number for 1990-1993, and another 1994-present.

both shafts will interchange between the 93 and older, and the 94 and up. You will need the appropriate coupler to go with the midshaft. for example i have the newer style 94 (to present) midshaft housing, but i am using the 93 and older midshaft with the 93 and older coupler.

So the only difference in the shaft is at the end where the coupler threads on?
