SJ- Getting the Fuel tank white again

I have a new hull on its way and I wish my fuel tank did not look like it was from the seventies. Has anyone had any luck bleaching there tanks white again?

I put mine in a tub with about 10 gallons of water and a half gallon of bleach. Let it sit for 24 hours. The tank looks exactly the same.

I did a similar thing with mine (I had some dish-soap in my mixture as well) and let it sit for 7 days. I'm afraid there's no cleaning of those things.
SOMEDAY, somebody will get smart and make a BLACK tank with a replacable 'level indicator' hose.
someday.

For now, if you want a white tank, you have to pay $143.49 for a new one.

I used Simple Green and some serious scouring and my tank's exterior freshened up nicely compared to what it looked like.

Fuel tanks are currently backordered from Yamaha but at $120.53 (for a 2006), it might actually be worth the replacement.

Replacing the gas tank seems to work.

I had a small melted spot on my gas tank where the stinger end was hitting it, so I decided to replace it. I’ve got a piece of silicone rubber between the tank and pipe now.

That is the cleanest engine compartment I have ever seen! :hail:
Looks like it has never been started.
