How to clean a gastank...

I've seen a bunch of clean bright white gas tanks out there... how do ya do it?
I was thinkin of drainin it and fillin it back up with bleach and water... any other idea??:1244::1244:

i use bleach on mine it works well
but it doesnt make it like new

Seems white paint would make seeing your fuel level a bit tough

Who cares? As long as it holds gas and doesn't leak.
Is discoloration on the outside of a tank? Ive wiped mine with acetone to clean off some grease on the tank and was left with a clean spot.

I know what you mean though. There is nothing like the whiteness of a brand new gas tank. When Kenney got his newer warthog ski I coulda swore they started making them more white. I'm jealous, I'm pretty sure the plastic just fades.

I soaked mine for 8 days in a bleach/dishsoap solution....
It made it smell nice, but did NOTHING for the discoloration.

I REALLY wish someone would start making them out of black plastic with a replaceable 'level' tube.
The Japanese have made them out of aluminum, but I like the 'flexibility' of the plastic one when it comes to removal and installation.
