Sj drive shaft question

Hi, first time posting. Sorry for the dumb questions...

I just rebuilt my 2009 Superjet pump but I forgot to measure how many mm in front of the bearing towards the front of the pump should the drive shaft sit so that when I tighten the impeller it still spins freely instead of hitting the center of the pump?

Also is it possible that I added too much grease in between the pump bearings and inside the cone at the end? I feel like it is not spinning freely enough.

Thanks!

There is no adjustment to how far your sits in, or out. When building I do it this way;

1 - install BOTH bearings on shaft all the way until the stops. I coo the shaft, and use heat on the bearings, do not press.

2 - I then fully grease bearings, and area between bearings. I again cool the whole assembly.

3- install pump seals in font of pump, making sure to orientate properly.

4 - heat pump assembly, and install shaft/bearings all the way until you hear a thunk. Again NO press, or hammer.

A newly built pump assembly will fell a little tight from new grease, and seals.

Do not forget your OEM rubber/steel washer as that provides a 2.5mm spacer to keep your aftermarket impeller from contacting the center hub on some aftermarket pumps/impellers.

Ahhhh, there we go! When I ordered my new prop from Impros a few weeks ago I asked that specific question and they said no, nothing between the impeller and pump. Good looking out!!
