sj alergic to water

we have a sj in our camp that is alergic to water. it has a old jetworks 760 with ported cases and what not, tl, factory dry pipe and 48 full specs. boat ran good all summer until she stuck a ring a few weeks back. rebuilt the motor and sounds real nice on the trailer and when you carry it to the water, it want go. since then, we have changed tl systems, rebuilt carbs and fuel pump, pressure checked pipe and motor and still no go. we got to thinking maybe something was wrong with the bore job and put the wore out 701 back in it and it does the exact same thing. up for sugestions

If its doing it on 2 different motors I would lean to exhaust and waterbox clogging up the flow. had a 550 and my superjet do it, mostly because our idle was so Stupid long the box would get clogged up and have to be burnt out. Could be your electrical, are both cylinders warm after it runs for 20 seconds?

Check exhaust, especially the waterbox and tube. I have seen it several times where the box gets clogged up with crap and wont let it flow and restricts the motor from running more then a couple thousand rpm

will check it out because thats the only thing we didnt check. its an x metal with front exhaust although it was bought new last winter.

you running rich? metal boxes are fun to clear out. pour a little gas and grab an air hose, be careful it will turn into a blow torch. I cleared mine out last summer when my ski wouldnt rev above 3K.

a little rich, we poured up 5 gallons of 32-1 for the new motor but always run them at 40-1. maybe the 701 dont have enough guts to run the full specs. just strange because two different motors = the same problem.

we like blow torches and blue tip wrenches.. they are fun to play with
