Question laying / wetting 12 oz biax "no mat" and US COMPOSITES 635 thin epoxy. This is not a structural / critical epox job.. However having never really done this I have a question.

Vertical area.. Should I tape the cloth into place and paint the mix over it - then wet out.. Or do you
paint the area - let it start to get sticky then put cloth in place and wet out.. "The paint the area and
let get sticky is what US COMPOSITES told when I called.. That does not sound right to me.. Trying to work out the issues with a tacky setup seems to be asking for trouble. Plus the few you tube "boat" video's I
looked at didn't do that lol..

Lay down a piece of plastic, cardboard, etc. (something to throw away when youre finished) on a table or workbench. Lay your biax on the plastic, cardboard and pour the resin down the middle and wet out with a bondo spreader or putty knife etc. Slightly wet the surface of your part with a brush, then peel the biax off the work area and apply to your part. Use the same spreader to work any bubbles out starting from the center to the edges. Repeat this procedure until its as thick as you need. The biax should stick rather well to the vertical surface if you don't have excessive resin. You can also use saran wrap to stretch over the area to hold it in place and make a smoother surface, but it will trap some air bubbles underneath that may drive you crazy trying to chase them out.
