Wanted to show this off. It is one of the newer carbon chinpads from TOBY that is made to fit the UMI poles and can be made to fit the original fixed-length X-Metal poles. I'm using it on an X-Metal pole.
Pad can be bought here: http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/84827-composite-paloosa-chinpads-that-are-strong-and-sleak-to-footholds-that-are-proven&highlight=toby
The Underpad I used is some that I sell. Available here: http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/99522-...ensity.-1-8-quot-3-8-quot-1-2-quot&highlight=
I have covered several chinpads this way with vinyl and a design "embossed" in the pad. Wanted to keep this one simple and show off the sexy lines in this pad. it has 2 ridges that run along the edges on the top that give it a unique look and make it very rigid.
Here is the carbon shell. I trimmed it to the shape I wanted and added the fiberglass "tongue" to hook into the pole with no mounting screws. i also added the tabs on each side to bolt it to the pole. They were cut from scrap when I trimmed the shell to shape. I glued them in place with Plexus and added some pop-rivets for extra security.
Next cover with underpad and glue on embossed designs:

Cover with marine "hammered" vinyl = Done.

Will add pics of it on my ski soon...
Thanks to TOBY for the sick looking carbon chinpad. Sorry it took me so long to get it built and post this! :beerchug:
