sick squarenose paint

you got it, Legdrag hooked me up. works great. I noticed a little wear after one season, but that probably was my fault for not tightening enough or to much. bracket is solid as a rock though.

The geometry of the pole is different as well. It takes away the bend that the squarenose has and give almost a straight shot to the bracket, aiding in control. Definatly looks better as well and is stronger as the squarenose pole has a fiberglass base that is prone to cracking.

ordered turf today. I went with dark gray diamond. I hope to have it by next week and weldwood fumes here we come. Now I found out I had water in the electric box. gggrrrr and my midshaft bearing is shot. projects, gotta love em

I found a future jet ski mechanic. She is such a big help Well, pump is in as well as the water box front exhaust installed and motor in place, I still have the midshaft to work on before I cinch it down. Turf this week. I'm getting there.

Like a good man you just step aside and let her go to town. Ski looks killer, what do you think the eta for hitting the water is?

Turf this week and then as you are, I need to work on the midshaft. I will try to fire it up this week to make sure the winter did not kill it. My battery is dead so I have had to charge it.

Eta on actual water next week or so. After ordering parts for the midshaft, and assembling them.

That your daughter? She's adorable. Good to have a small set of hands to work on stuff with you. My daughter always wants to wrench on my ski..my son just waits till we're done so he can ride.

BTW, your ski looks awesome...with the bottom of the hull painted that nice, you'd better be doing some killer backflips to show it off :woot:

Looks good mate, however, ive only scan read this thread, and with 12 coats of clear all you need is one chip in the clearcoat and the force of the watter will peel the paint and clearcoat from the ski in no time.

This happened to a friend of mines ski that was professionally painted and it had lots of clearcoat due to a rainbow flake laquer on it. The bottom line is the paint is too think and will peel in sheets if the water can get to it.

I hope in your case this doesnt happen, just telling you of my experience with thick clearcoats used on the undersides of skis.

That happened to my buddies ski that was all done up in metal flake. The guy that painted my ski told me the same thing. Thick clear coat makes the paint softer or harder I can't remember, but he basically said what you are saying, if it chips it will keep chipping.

I was expecting my midshaft last week but it was a no show. We should both be on the water about the same time :Banane01: I need to finish Macks footholds and turf his boat. Sounds like we will all be up and running the same week. Darin has been on the water allot latley...........guess he is making up for lost time last season
