Should I run a 701 62t cylinder?

From what it looks like, port matching it would make the exhuast port timing the same as the 760 62t engine.

leaving it as is, it is the same, or is VERY CLOSE to the same as a 61 cylinder.

SuperTune, you never addressed the differences in these sleeves?

does anyone know this stuff for sure?

or is this the top secret stuff about why the 62t cylinders are cheaper than 61x cylinders?

The 61x cylinder motor doesn't see the sleeve height, it see's the casting height at sleeve. As most of you know the 61x cylinder castings don't match the sleeves on the transfers. The 62T and 64x do match up pretty well and offer the motor more transfer duration and to keep the blowdown degrees in check the exhaust ports are most often raised too (more duration). This is the main reason I say to use the 61x cylinder for freestyle set-ups for that instant hit of the throttle response for the average joe motor with just bolt-ons. Different story on my full out big cc motors, as they are very carefully thought and planned out with a combination that works together as a whole package.
