shorting the factory pole

ivw just brought my frist stand up last wednesday (95 750sx) and ive put thro just over a tank off gas and i think i need to shorten my pole . im 6/4 and even with the pole tucked right into my body it just feels like im standing to far back . has any one shortend there factory kawasaki pole before and any tips on how much to shorten it . I got a spare pole with my ski with a crack in the priviot area so i was thinking about cutting it in half in the middle and reglassing it togeather again . Any tips or ideas woudld be cool thanks :hail:

Phill (board member here) did that with an old Superjet pole. (Cut in the middle and glass together)

I forgot!
i did it

i did this to my 96 sxi, i cut out about 2" from the middle and made 8 small brackets that i rivited to the pole to help hold them together. i also layed a fiberglass band around the seam and covered it in turf to make it even uglier, worked really well and i could stand on the middle of my pole on the gound when it was done, meaning it was pretty strong, i also ripped the pole off the ski and had to shorten it another 1 1/2 at the bottom. man is it ever ugly but it has held up for it's second season.

0 degree bars help but i found that in waves my gut would be pushing against the pole stopping me from moving my whole body forward, cutting the pole seemed easier than loosing a couple inches from the spare tire

thanks guys for your help im nut sure wot the bars are but they do have a kick back and i was going to get some 0 deg bars as well . i think ill cut my spare pole on tuesday buy about 3" and get some new bars for a start . a new pole would be cool but i think that is a few weekes away yet :Banane01:
