I've been admiring the FS-X by Rickter and i'm thinking of doing something similar with the pump, although not as extreme.

It seems like retaining the rear rideplate mounts would be the biggest issue.

Does anyone have any input or pictures of this?
you need to move the pump and intake back. thats how xfs pulls off what it does

No Square..No Round..FX-1
I think starting with tubbies, and a big pump w/trim, and real power is your best bet! But I sure want to see the results.
This is a good combo..
Dang, I think these hulls are hard enough to ride stock length much less making them shorter!
Hard to ride? FX-1's are easier than the old 550's.
Slap a big motor in that sucker and it will go around for you.
Hmmm...like the engine in your avatar.

I would find a squarenose bottom and modify that to fit. Plus add rocker to it. The FX knives through the water, not so much on top of it. You need much more surface area.
I would think you would be better off starting with a fresh bottom than trying to graft on to what you have. you would be better off widening your hull if you try to shorten it.

WaveHog is a big guy that doesn't seem to have a problem with the FX "knifing" through the water...

Sounds like you are describing the "Stunt Hull".
