shortened handlepole question

Just got done shortening my handlepole this weekend and came across what my be a problem. I decided to use bolts instead or rivets when I glued pole back on and was wondering if the wires ran up through pole would rub holes in time on the exposed nut heads on the inside? any thoughts or problems with this?

So did you just get rid of the foam in that area? I left the foam covering them when I did mine, but with bolts that would be tricky. If you've still got a bit of a foam 'tunnel' for the wires close to the end you should be fine.

Never had an issue over 8 years I don't think the wires and cables are anywhere near the fasteners the wires run up the center of the pole.
