l'm trying to set my xmetal steering and need someone to give me some advise.l have a xmetal pole that it is attaching too.l have all the parts, but the bearings on the bottom of the steering plate are not making contact with the pole.Seems as though the bearings are recessed in the plate.Which defeats the purpose of the bearings. So l put a nylon washer from a sj steering and that keeps it from rubbing metal to metal, but l don't think that is going to work cause the bearings are still not touching as they should.l hope that makes sense.Anyone got ideas?

Do you have to two flat spacer washers that go on the top and bottom of the thrust bearings? The washers are steel so that the bearing rollers don't directly contact the aluminum of the pole or of the steering plate. If you are missing those washers, the bearing will not contact both surfaces.

l guess if you mean washers that came with the kit.l didn't get any.l have yamaha washers off my stock pole.Kinda wish they had instructions that came with the steering system.Another problem that l have is no where to screw the pivet ball into on the plate.Am l missing something else or l don't have a clue about this adj steering.Goes back to instructions.

Hey Don , Freestylegeek is right you must run the stainless washers, I'm sure that Xmetal will hook you up with them .

You should have an arm that bolts to the handlebars (the silver piece in the picture). That will allow you not only to adjust the steering ratio, but also the endpoints of the steering cable. Anyone who runs this steering system (properly set up) will NEVER break a steering cable again.

Called Xscream today.l was missing 4 washers under and over the bearings.Just in case there is any question, xscream does a great job in sending out completed setups.l bought this in Daytona at the freeride and was one of the first ones to get the adj system.

Frestylegeek nailed the problem right off! thanks
