The last post before yours was from September 2010, and the discussion was dead before that post.

So what if the thread is old? Man I hate when that's brought up in a discussion. The topic is still relevant today.

I'd love to see some exposure for this stuff. Nowadays the outlet doesn't have to be tv. The best jet ski content is on youtube now. I share cool vids all the time on other forums/social media. I haven't converted anyone yet but I'm not ruling it out in the future. Guys in my age range 25-28 have some sort of hobby they blow some money on. A lot of times it's their girlfriend. For 1500-2000 bucks someone can pick up an SN and go play.

Former athletes and outdoor enthusiast have an outlet they don't yet realize in stand ups. It's up to us to keep spreading the word. Frankly I wouldnt worry about beaches getting so crowded you can't catch a wave. With one OEM and aftermarket stuff so expensive it'll never get too big. But there's a lot of fun to be had for a cople grand.

ive spent over $4000 on my js550 now lol. but its not even a 550 anymore. its stilll a project, 750 conversion, all the mods, rockered nose, skibum tubbies, shortened like 6 in, reshaped tray, footholds, 650 pump cavity, tons of engine work and stuff, westcoast tank, westcoast pipe, westcoast waterbox, rear exhaust mod, too much too list. at this point, im ready to finish the composite work, paint it throw it together, and ride on the ice here in michigan

And after you ride it you'll be wishing you had spent that $4000 on a superjet. :p

too that though, ive had a superjet, 750 sxi, fx1, and sxr. i was too stupid to hold on to em lol. but truthfully, i definetly prefer having this ski rather than a stock 2008 sj for $4000 u know. the ski i have will haul a$$ and its not even close to a 550 anymore. check out my build thread if u wanna se it

Old thread and post but completely agree. Never really understood the fascination with growing the sport. Unless you are in the watercraft business of course.

it will never be that bad, surfers have to bunch up to take off right where the wave begins to break,We dont have to bunch up,Tona freeride is a good example, tons of guys out and still really fun to ride there. also if the community gets much bigger so do the aftermarket products, the more that can be produced the lower the prices can be. there are many advantages to it being more main stream in the future. IF the demand was high enough on the coasts, ride areas would get established legally the same way they were in daytona in the boom yrs of jetskis.
