seized sj motor

Anyone ever seize a motor wide open on flat water?It locked so hard that I slammed into the handle bars and did a 10 ft sub.All I remember is wot for a sec and then bam Im under water.Anyway got the cylinders off and found score marks on the sleeve . motor is toast.I got a 760 top end laying here never used, what do you all think about 760 topend?

The 760 will work, but you probably won't be able to feel much differance over your 701. The 760 port timing leaves a lot to be desired for a stand-up. I have a porting map that will help it.........
there are other factors also, the ex manifold bolt sizing for instance. Some will tell you to bore out the manifold bolt holes to accomidate the larger size...... Don't do it! You will experiance water jacket gasket leaking!!!
install time serts instead!
If you run a girdled head, you will need to mill away the exhaust mounting flanges for clearance of the girdle studs.......
