Now that's pretty slick! Are you riding salt and if so did you get the box anodized first?

Yeah Ride Salt 99% of the time.....no didnt get it anodised...probably should have ...

Wouldn't the coils be an important part to keep saltwater off of?

Yeah i originally wanted to get them inside the box, but was going to make the box so much bigger....and yeah apparently MSD instructs you to mount 6in away!?
I figured those MSD boots have pretty good seal....and the bullet joiner to the coils are inside the box...

Hey SHifty, I dont know if you noticed, but there is one of you start-stop modules tucked away in the top right corner!....has been working mint for 5 months now!

Man, I didn't even notice it was you that had posted. Im glad the module is working out well. That box is really "clean" I really like the thread inserts around the flange and the integrated coil mount.

I wish MSD would allow you toggle settings through a computer GUI instead of the hard to access dip switches.

MSD Instructions state that the coils should be at least 6" away from the brain. I guess this is due to EMI or possibly the risk of damaging the brain if the coil jumped to ground through it somehow.

I would keep that fact in mind when mounting coils near the brain.

Pretty sure that was only the analog systems. I know this has come up before and I sifted through the single channel instructions a few times and that distance isn't shown anywhere. In fact, the diagram shown on how to mount the components shows the coil being closer than 6" from the brain. I don't know about the multi-channel but the single channel digital doesn't show that distance requirement.

Its there, at least in the Dual Digital Instructions. I wonder if it would really pose a problem.

I know when I was manually rotating the flywheel and had the coil wires arcing (avatar)... I got a weird "vibe" in my ears and head... I think that could have been bad for me.:dead1:

Weird.... Check out the single channel section on ignition mounting.
