i have it 4 years now
i had put money for painting ,hydro turf , rd nozzle ,impeller ,umi bar
but i don't know what to do keep it
or sale it ???
i think that is old since is 1997 787cc
but from the other hand if i keep it i must modified more
and i can't find performance parts (do u have any ideas?)
help !!!!!!

i traded a guy a 97 xp w a sbt motor for -
04 sj , cover, silly little cart, and since he didnt have a trailer $200
sj has riva intake grate , 4'bars, pole spring , riva chin pad
ski runs great

SELL IT INVEST ITS $ IN YOUR SJ

the 97 xp wasnt very performance orientated, just didnt have the hp for the motor/pump conf.

there are plenty of performance parts around fro that motor, granted they may not be in greece and I'd imagine it would get pretty costly to get everything shipped over there.

If it was mine and I only rode it a couple times a year or only kept around fro others to ride I would just get rid of it. Take the money and put it into the SJ...its defiantely much better money spent than keeping the doo and putting any more money into it as you wouldn;t get it back out of it.

I have a older xp w/587 motor and I love it! I guess why i like it so much is I am into it $87.00 and it's the ugliest ski we own lol but hey it alway's start's and run's. When it start's acting up it will get shot and burned because I would never put any money in it! I would never buy a newer seadoo because they have way to many computer controlled component's.

I had/have a Seadoo 98 gsxl I bought brand new in 99. I loved it until I got my first Superjet and then lost more and more interest in it. I kept pumping money into it hoping to make it fun again until I had pretty much done everything I could to it that was possible. After trying to sell it complete for almost a year I decided to part it out for a fraction of what I paid out and just move on. I own 2 awesome RN Superjets and just ordered a new Matrix ES hull from Trinity Composites. I could have kept the Seadoo but I have absolutely no interest in riding it anymore. My advice, leave it stock or sell it.

Here's a before and after pic. I sunk an extra $9K into the ski on top of the original purchase price. I hope to clear $4K on the part out.

We have 1 of those old 587's too. They changed the hull design since that ski, and the newer ones aren't as fun to ride in the surf. They cut through the waves instead of riding them.

FYI.

I had over $18K invested in my seadoo, listed it for $8500 to start and then dropped the price every week it didn't sell, when it went under $5K I parted it out.

It sucks, but it is what it is.
