we were installing my tubbies this weekend and andrew had some pan-head screws layin around. we threw a couple on there and they looked much better than the screws blowsion sent. the difference is that they stick out a little. the way that the indents on the tubbies are it would make the supplied screws stick out as well. i was just wondering if you guys think that the pan heads would cause any problems or handling quirks. thanks!

I don't have tubbies but if your worried about the head of the screws that will only occasionally be in contact with the water then you should worry about the missing paint on the bottom of the hull causing drag.

IMHO it won't hurt

not to threadjack, but do tubbies come with a backer plate of some kind? are they just screwed in or bolted?

nevermind, just scrolled down further to see all the pics... i see screws...

Man I would hate to have all those screws going into my engine bay I would have to use some SMC panel adhesive to attach tubbies.

i was thinking the same thing. i'd rather use SMC panel adhesive and maybe some SS pan head bolts with nyloc nuts on the inside... with a small backer plate for each. or would that be overkill?

all you do is get a hammer and a chisel and shear them off afterward
