I know im jumping the gun a bit but to sum things up I upgrading my 650 all stock to a 701, I got a 61x case and a freestyle ported jug .75 over pistons, im going to use my 650 crank and carb, already got a 61x intake and reeds. I want to find a girdled head and a b pipe or any aftermarket pipe. My main ? is since the jug is ported am I going to have to modify the carb and buy new jets or anything. Im completely clueless when it comes to carburation, I know I would have to adjust for the pipe and head but I heard going from a650 to 701 the carb doesnt need much adjustment but throw in a port job does it change? I just need to know will I need to buy things or can it all be adjusted from the stock setup. I may start the engine when its rebuilt but probably take it to a friend who works on sleds boats and skis to tune the carb so im not at fault. thanks

I will take a look at the carb i had on that motor you got from me. I think it was 120 low, 145 high and 2.5 nedle and seat with the shiny silver spring. I will look at it when i go over my dads's next time. That isn't a really exotic port job so it should be pretty close to reccomended specs for the pipe you run.
