sbn 44 jetting heeeelllllllllppppp

i have a 1990 sn sj with a 701 conversion in it and its running a 44 sbn single carb (silver carb) . i have had the cylinders bored to 82mm/718cc and freestyle/rec ported, head milled (pump gas) and the flywheel lightened all by newmiller and have also just picked up a factory limited pipe. and was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on where to start with jetting for the carb. i live in mn and am going to run the factory flame arrestor. thanks any info would be greatly appreciated.

i looked at their site and they list pilot 120 and main 150 and say stock needle and seat and switch to 95g spring but thats for stock machine with aftermarket flame arrestors at sea level... i have some mods am running stock FA and am not at seal level i contacted them and they would not tell me anything other then that their recommended settings would not work for my application.

Make sure it sputters some at 1/4 throttle and tune the top screw for best full throttle acceleration.

So im an idiot and assumed when I saw my machine had a single carb i assumed it was a sbn 44 but have since noticed it has a wet jet intake and when I measured I found its actually a sbn46. It currently has a #2 needle and seat 117.5 pilot and 155 main and I beleive a gold spring any ideas where I should start with that carb.

Per the FP recommendation:
Main Jet : 145
Pilot Jet : 120
High speed screw : 1 1/2 turns out from closed
Low speed screw : 2 1/2 turns out from closed
Needle & Seat : 1.5
Spring : 95 gram

I have the same setup you do minus porting and mine is a little rich but runs spot on.

I have read that and thanks for the response but the factory pipe settings are for the factory sbn 44 single carb I have a sbn 46 single carb also their specs are for an aftermarket flame arrestor and im running the stock flame arrestor.

First thing , buy a popoff guge. Second thing , run the carb like it is and report back.

K I have a pop off gage ill let you know when I get the machine put back together and running thanks

Ok. The title said you have a 44mm carb. I bet if you tried a 44mm carb you would be happy with it.
