SBN 44 check valve rubber grommet ripped

Could a little rip on the rubber check valve in the fuel pump be the source of all my problems why it seems like my ski won't stay running or getting fuel. Seems to fire up for a second when I use the primer. Anybody have any experience with this? Got new crank seals and gaskets and 155 psi compression on my 550sx. It also does not have the stock keihn carb it has the sbn44 with an adapter and ported stock manifold.
