I sunk my ski in Lake Michigan when I was riding this afternoon. Got home and pulled the plugs, engine was full of water. My ski broke down on the beach before it sank (filled up getting towed in). The solenoid clicks when I hit the starter but it won't crank. All connections outside the Ebox look good, just replaced the bendix. When I got home we flipped i t and cranked by hand to get the water out. I filled the cases with two-cycle since I can't get it running. Is there anything else I can do to save my engine?

start replacing stuff quick to get that thing running.. or jump the starter.. see if it turns it .

lay a screw driver across the starter relay to bridge the terminals...

And is it possible to put in too much oil? I poured it in through the carb and cranked by hand to pull it through the cylinders but got to a point where I couldn't turn the crank anymore. I just don't want to blow anything.

that wold mean you hydrolocked the engine with oil.

yo need to get that oil out, and get the thing STARTED. then go run it HARD HARD HARD for a solid hour .

Got the oil out, jumped the starter, still clicked...any other ideas or am I forked?

Half inch air ratchet on the flywheel nut with plugs out. Have buddy spin in while you spray crank.

I think youd be fine with just the oil in the case and cylinders until you got it fixed though

pull the starter and jump it directly on the bench. if it doesn't turn replace it and get it started

Starter could be stuck. Sometimes feel the positive on you starter and hit the start button.
If shes getting hot, then your starters jammed

1- is the battery charged and good? Did you try a different battery yet?

depending what exhaust you have, you may be able to do the following- take jumper cable positive lead, attach directly on pos lead on starter, ground to a head bolt, then connect other side to a battery, connect the negative to battery, then TAP the positive on the battery, should spin engine. if not, you need a starter.

I am running a b-pipe. I tried jumping the starter relay at the ebox, would this tell me the same thing as jumping the starter on the engine?

if you jump it and it still clicks, its more than likely the starter, Got a test light? stick it from ground to positive post on starter.

Yes, jumping posts is same as starter, but sometimes I've jumped posts with no results, and touched starter and it spins... the closer you can get, the more accurate of findings you will have..

Get that starter out! and get a new one in and get the thing running!!!

Swapped out my starter on Saturday AM and tried to get her running again...it fired a couple times but I started hearing grinding in the cases and quit turning it over. Does the noise indicate a crank issue or should I keep working it until it gets started?

Pull the tank, pull the front cover, inspect teeth/check for rust and corrosion. If all looks well disassemble the engine. Good luck
