San Diego vacation any ideas?

My wife and I are going on a Mexican cruise in two weeks and when we get off the boat at the end we will have two days in San Diego. any sugestions on things to do or see, we were thinking about the zoo or the beach, also where could I go to watch you west coast stand up guys ride and are there any hotels you would recomend, at the beach, $200 a night or less. thanks for any sugestions

Ottis...not sure if you would be interested, but I have a buddy down here that rents sit downs. We could probably trailer one up to Oceanside if you wanted to cruise out. I don't have a spare standup right now...

I spend a lot of time in San Diego for work. For sightseeing, I'd suggest the following:

The Zoo

Balboa Park, has many different museums

Hornblower cruise around the harbor

Take a drive West on I-8 about 20 miles to see some of the clearest skies ever (well, at least compared to NJ). It's amazing, and free.

The Indian casinos, West on I-8

Mission Bay island is just pretty cool to see all of the watersports-loving people camping out (jet skis, water skiers, kite boarders, etc.)

If you can make the time, head about 2 hours North and tour the NBC studios in Burbank (you have to be there by 8AM to get free tickets for Leno)

I'm not looking to ride anyones ski, I would'nt feel comfortable doing that , but I would like to get a chance to watch you guys ride, renting a couch could be a optinon though.
