Blown away that yours is the first response to this......... Honestly, makes me wonder why we are here any more!!!!!!!!!!! (Said with heavy sarcasm - Just one of those days)

Personally, I think this may be the best of the RTR attempts............. Hell, Even better than the Polaris Octane!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It had its own issues even though it was MFG Produced.

Agreed. Looks like it probably is the best RTR offering. The ability to upgrade and replace parts as needed is huge. What krash should have done instead of having everything proprietary on their skis

I looked at it like, I spent prob 14-15k building my footrocket with a 701, all the bolt ons and everything. I’d like to try a flat water ski now that I’m spending more time on the lake with the family on the ski boat anchored up in a cove or on a beach or whatever. This seems like a sweet hull (never ridden a revolver) and the package has a lot of nice parts. For 12.5k I figured it’s a great place to start especially with that pump and exhaust I can always upgrade the motor if I want with just a prop change.

I might as well be from Missouri because after all of my previous dealings with SBT products they are going to have to SHOW ME before I believe .

Show me starters that last more than a season, show me starter clutches that don't grenade taking stators out along with them , show me stators and CDI'S that last for multiple years , I personally I do hope we will see that come to pass , so far it hasn't .

I know who CJ is, me and him had a long conversation about the issues I was having with SBT products not long after he took over down there , I made some serious suggestions such as offering options on which engine you received , not many know this but if you get an SBT engine it is either std bore or 1.00 mm oversized , I asked that at the least you get to choose which one you got even if that meant an upcharge on the engine .

As it stands pretty much every SBT engine I have ever worked on was 1.00mm oversized , that means your options to rebuild that top end down the road are very limited and where do you get 1.50 mm pistons from , SBT , Prox , Wiseco and that's all I have found thus far .

On something like a Yamaha 760 -1200 that's an issue , those sleeves are paper thin already, I don't even like punching them to 1.00 much less 1.5mm , I have one right now I am working on that I have this exact issue with .

I do realize that these engines will be brand new , albiet made of Chinesium alloy and steel , so as with anything time will tell what's what.

Might be right, maybe not. I am pulling for them, if they can start making higher performance stuff that works at a good price its good for everyone.
Here is the thing and Waxhead has said this numerous times , it is not a question of whether or not the Chinese can make quality components , without a doubt they can , and without a doubt that is where SBT components are being made.

It is all about the specs they are given to build the components to and the price , obviously if you only want to pay $1.00 per set of piston rings , $5.00 per piston or $8.00 for a starter then you shouldn't expect those components to be all that good.

Waxhead has proven that China can make quality components that hold up , WSM ,one of SBT's biggest competitors has proven the Chinese can make excellent quality pistons that are durable , in fact I have never had one of them fail in 20 plus years of using them.

I am reserving judgement on all of these newly manufactured parts till some time has passed , I want to see things like how the sleeves line up with the ports , how the electronics hold up to use and abuse , will the products make it through the warranty period . those sorts of things .

I have seen all of this before with the Polaris Octanes and with the Thunderjets although I know both of those are bad examples.

I feel like the hull, pump, pole, exhaust and everything but the motor is worth the price tag. It also seems like flat water riders tend to up the motor power as they progress. Not disagreeing with any of your points but I think this might be an awesome way to get into the flatwater.

I want to see the ski in person and give it a serious inspection before I give SBT THAT kind of money. Also, I can't stand jetgirl
She came across as a bought and paid for spokesperson, at least that's the way it looked to me, I wasn't impressed .

She is annoying. She talks entirely too much, and I found myself skimming through the video wondering what the hell it was even about. We get no video, photos, or real updates about the ski. They haven't addressed anyone's concerns about quality, sourcing, or given real updates since September. People are still waiting on the skis they paid for...so I'm over it

She is one of the few racers who represents the sport very well. She puts her self out there and has been noticed. She is also one of the Drivers for Formula E1 Race series. Electric Hydrofoil Boat. Team owner is Marc Anthony. Honestly, I enjoyed the hell out of that video and her enthusiasm.. she has.done more than any of us has!..
