Surfriding running dual 38s on larger motors?

5mm mill stroker crank 85.5 mill flat top pistons. paul did my motor for me like 8 or 9 years ago. low end porting. ada head 175 psi. b-pipe. 140 12vein setback pump running a 12/19 prop. i bring gas out with me when we ride but i can get 2 hours with what the ski holds. i also went with an octane tank it gets me about a 1/2 a gallon more. one of the guys we ride with has a 771 with blackjack 44s and he runs out before me. when he is out i have about a 3/4 of a gallon to get back in at that point. i try to not run the ski in the rich spot down low. seams to help.
i got an idea i will come down and ride with you guys and see how long i make it lol

thats very close to my setup bring it on down we ride all winter.did you make it to wavedaze this yr? if your bud is runnin out of fuel before you even with 1/2 gal less in tank with 44 bj carbs and a stock crank,you must really have your carbs set with a high pop off,is the bottom responce super fast,bj carbs are about the only main stream carb I have not tried,I have a single 46 bj thats like brand new but never found another one to run with it

his ski hits like crazy. more low end then my motor. he also has a 144 mag pump with a smaller prop then me. i have tried just about every carb combo. novi 48's,46's, normal 44's . the blacjacks work the best for me so far. with the novis i had no low end but it went like a mother up top.
no wavedaze for me.

He makes more power. Thus he burns more fuel.

sounds like it,but if his buddy is making more power with a 771bb on 44s and out of fuel faster than a 830 stroker,something is not right with the setup or tune on the 830,unless the bb is tl and high comp race gas setup

you are talking about motors made in different eras too... that jetworks motor was just built and the 830 is how many years old ryan?

oldie,but goodie setup with high exh,trans duration,for stupid comp,drypipe and tl,thats not setup on any of that anymore..........

mine makes more power caus i bust his arss once we get moven.140 mag v.s a 144. also. i dont have an aluminum flywheel. kind of hurts the low end.
