Running a shorter sparkplug??

Can you run a shorter than normal plug in order to lessen compression a bit? Will it run with a shorter plug, or run like garbage? Anyone tried this? Prolly a dumb question, but I'm asking because I was thinking about it and I don't know!:drive:

I wouldn't use the shorter reach plug because it will cause combustion problems and maybe hot spots.

Those domes may have already been machined from the pictures.

I would install the head and check the compression and squish gap clearance.

If you need to lower the compression a bit I'd go with a thicker base gasket to add some extra cc's and widen the squish gap if needed.
