Running a Jet Ski on Propane....

A really old thread but wanted to post this since I've seen no one doing the Jetski conversion to LPG
I have a VX110 Sport running on LPG (Propane)
No differences in performance (maybe a bit more power when idling on propane)
Conversion was very simple using Vialle's LSI liquid injection system
Which means it's not running on LPG vapors but liquid LPG (Propane)

If anyone wants to see the process, reply

Do share thanks

I'm intrigued.

Hell yea we do!

We've got a good offer on a '05 VX110 Sport
Hasn't been running in 3 years
It was standing outside a warehouse

We fixed all the dents in it
IMG_20170816_WA0002.jpg

and repainted it in matte black

We drilled through the intake manifold to fit in the LPG injectors

Conversion was done in a few hours using Vialle's LSI liquid injection system (the purple thing is the LSI LPG rail which attaches to the injectors drilled in the intake manifold)

This is the first LPG refill at the gas station
IMG_20170731_090028.jpg

Upon our first water leak test it was leaking water
That was fixed in a day just so we can go on a cruise

This project was done quickly so we can test it longer this summer
It still has to be tuned (the injectors are at default settings so the mix has more propane in it but it's not affecting the performance
The engine will also be rebuilt at the end of the summer
Here's a short video I edited on my phone

At the end of the summer we will be doing an endurance test of 70kilometers (from the island of Vis to the city of Split)

Btw we also have a Suzuki 250 outboard on fisherboat for 4 years already

Propane may have a higher octane but doesn't it also have a much narrower flame band? Wouldn't that make tuning a 2 stroke nearly impossible?

Over the years I had 3 different trucks converted and they always claimed a 10% power loss over gas. Propane was $0.10/liter back then so it was still worth doing the conversion, especially when most of my vehicles ranged between 5 and 10 MPG.

Now, that's before vehicles were direct injected or had programmable tuners. (88 Ford F250 with a 460 V8, 92 GMC Sierra with 350, (dual fuel), 94 Dodge Ram 2500 with 488 V10.)

I'm sure they have much more efficient options these days but I can't tell you the last time I saw a converted vehicle. That has to say something right there.
