Locking up how? the pivot or turnplate or cable?

i guess the pivot. i made a right turn and it stuck. the bolt would not come out and i finally broke it and pulled it out from the bottom. the bearings were toast. this steering is only 2 1/2 3 months old

mine is a couple months old now with no issues.only used in salt.i havnt even had to tighten it since initial install,so far im impressed.did you grease everything when you put it together?post some pics so we can see what happened.

to late for pics, did grease it and have had to tighten it up a couple of times. thats where my trouble started yesterday. went to put some new odi s on it yesterday and noticed a little slop, commence to tightening it down at went to the water. made a right turn and they froze up. got it jerri rigged to ride today. the bearings were shot, what needles that were left. maybe i just a bad set. ill be on the horn with blowsion tomorrow.

ther was a bad set my original one was machined about 2-3 mm off where the bearings go together. luckily it made slop in the initial install, called rrp and they sent me out a new setup.

Did you keep it greased via the zerk?

im gonna be totally honest, it works better now than before. the front end is trying to run over the back end and its ghetto rigged. no steve i havent greased it at the zerk since i put it together. if it want last two months without grease than its junk in my book
