Surfriding RRP Pole Bracket Owners

Im running a duel breather RRP bracket and a Wamiltons lowered hood. Im having a hell of a time with the RRP hood hooks and the stock hood prongs.

I've talked to Carl @ Cold Fusion, he said he set Tanners new ski up with cold fusion hood hooks and hood prongs so I ordered some and the hooks prongs are way too thick to fit into the RRP groves therefore Im having some major clearance issues.

What does everyone else do to create a good seal, with a tight sturdy fit? My barrels rolls are taking a toll on my hook/prongs and I have having to bend them back every time after I ride.

I've seen Jakes Brights. His fits damn nice too. I think there is a Newer style pole bracket, which you, tanner, and jake have. I've got the older one and it's just not happening.

I just want to ride and not have to worry about my poop popping loose anymore and not bending everything.

I've got the a rrp duel breather bracket with the cold fusion hooks on the rickter, fits like a glove.

Comparing 2 different applications. There is a Rickter bracket and a Superjet bracket.

Cut the sides off the superjet bracket and use Carl's items...or stop landing on the side of the hood/hull.

Never thought of that, thats a great idea, where should I cut? The outer part is what holds the bracket to the hull too...

Carl Set me up with the "Lowered hood hooks", which would be used on an aftermarket hull and the hood prongs. If I cut the sides off I would prob need to run the cold fusion "yamaha billet hood hooks" right?

Have you tried moving the hood prongs on the hood up? This will tighten the hood down a bit more. Call wamilton, he's an awesome guy to deal with. I spoke with him and he solved all my issues that i was having with my ski. He won't let you hang up until all problems are solved.

If I moved up the hood prongs then the I would still need to get higher hood hooks because then theres no way in hell it would close. Hard to judge where/how far to move the hood prongs. It's not like Im drilling through an $800 hood or something here....

you shouldn't have to drill the hood, there's play in the hood prongs on the hood. i ended up raising the prongs as high as they go which presses the hood down on the bracket tighter, which also puts more pressure on the hood latch. What hood hooks do you have on the RRP bracket? RRP hood hooks? I'm not having any issues with my wamiltons hood and rrp bracket.

Are you running the cold fusion hood prongs? I will have to try to use the stock hood hooks again. No, I also tried using the RRP hood hooks with the cold fusion hood prongs and there wasn't' enough clearance because the hood prongs hit the bracket. They are too big to fit in the groves.

I'll take some pictures for you tomorrow of the rrp hooks that i'm using, maybe there's different rrp hooks or something, i'm using the prongs that came with my used wamiltons hood "they look stock" here's a picture of the prongs.

stock hood and hooks. best option

Not an option... My hoods up north.

I've made a little progress using washers to raise the lowered hooks. Tried putting the stock ones on... they are too high. Tried the lowered ones... they are too low.

Washers are helping me find that happy medium. Shaunsteezy works at a shop with CNC machines. We are going to fab up some type of spacer do I don't need to run dinky washers. I also want to run two bolts to make this hook hooks bullet proof and not move. No matter how tight, with my side impacts... They are gonna move.

I also need to figure out how to put that bottom bolt in... The hood hooks are in the way. Deff have some innovating to do and prob lots of trips to ACE Hardware.

I used the top part of the stock hull side, hood hooks. and bend it sligty so it locks the hood side hook pins ind nicely. I think i work pretty good. I will see if i can find a picture on my computer or get my girlfriend to shoot a picture and upload it, if you would see?
