RRP and PFP pipe

What's the deal with water backing up into the engine with the RRP and PFP pipes? Can you let the ski float in the water for any amount of time with the engine off without having to worry? Is it only in surf that it's an issue? I like to go to sandbars on lakes to socialize, but the ski needs to float for a few hours as it's too deep for a stand. Am I stuck using a b-pipe if I want that capability?

stay on the throttle bro, and flip as much as possible to keep the water flowing... LOL

I've had both, never had one issue with either. Running the RRP pipe now. I've only let mine float for a little bit... never hours.

The way the baffle plate is designed it traps air up high and water down low.
So it doesn't get a backwash that fills the motor up.
plus the box is tall so it reduces the chance of water backing into the motor by 90% over every other side mounted box on the market

You can make a p trap with some silicone elbows. It seemed to work for me when I had the same problem. I haven't had a problem since. It is kind of cumbersome and bulky though (redneck fix).

This is the Buzzard's set up for a reference.
My set up is different, but the Buzzard's set up is way easier and looks cleaner then mine.
