I've tried them on two different ski's. I didn't think they were very comfortable at all and I can't stay in the holds to save my life.

I don't like them!! I've come out of them during rolls (very dangerous!) and they seem to keep your foot straight instead of on an little side angle (normal standing position)

beside they are very heavy!!

and expensive!!

just my .02

I would have to ride them. From pics they just don't look like they hold you in very well. More like exagerated lifters. I noticed sone surf guys adding enclosures on the holds bc of that reason. How much weight do the rrp hold add? I have noticed rrp has a tendency to over engineer stuff. I had a rrp steering system and lost count of all the bolts it had........that kept comming loose

i think they are awesome. i like to have my feet up more and the left foot slightly forward in the surf and holds as far back as possible on flat so the adjustabality is awesome they lock in awesome. just pad em down to fit your feet.

RR adj Footholds

I think they are the best footholds I had so far....
They can be adjusted easlily to not come out of the fooholds, ( longer feet. sideways feet, short feet, fat feet )
I was the first to have them installed on a RN , i built my own box with AC backing plate for outside wall enforcement and received the footholds only as a trade from taylor curtis.

You just have to set them up right.... There should be no reason why you should come out of these holds. If you are then thats your issue. Not the holds. I trimmed the bottom of the hold so they could sit low and I literally put my foot in and stepped on top with my other foot on top of the hold and tightened them down. Look at my avatar... Forsure locked in. When I kick in it takes 2-3 tugs to get my foot back out.

I have a friend who just got an fr2 had a little play on it a few times . Tried a couple little nose stabs etc fell out of the holds until I worked out you have really KICK your feet in hard then they clamp your feet in, if I kicked in my wrap around foot holds that hard it would hurt but these feel real nice . Just my very limited experience

they are badass, because they are adjustable... but on the flip side of that, they are in a pain in the ass to adjust. they work best when the tolerance is small and wrestling shoes are being worn so you can really kick your foot in.

i chose to enclose mine after a few months, because my previous ski has xft enclosed footholds and i had developed bad habits with how i was throwing the rear end of the ski around (i.e. i was falling out easily without the enclosures).

hopefully that made sense...
