Does anyone run a RR pole tight with a spring?????? I am concerned about the casted bottom breaking. I wasnt worried until I saw they offer a piece to dlide over through bolt to keep it from breaking. Problem is I do not believe the spring will go over that piece?????? This is an $800 pole and I do not want to spend that just to break the damn thing?????

yea i run over 50 of the poles and they are all good to go the reason is to prevent them from breaking and to keep the pole to the tightness you want . that is the problemn on all handlepoles not just the rrp . wammer used to make spacers for the ac and umi and x metal . beacause you keep cranking down on the bolt and it keeps squeezing that piece eventually one will fail the bolt or the pole . rick just did not want any issues .

I run the RRP as well - the spacer does not allow a spring - its one or the other.. with the spacer you can get the pole super tight so it feels pretty weightless anyway (without the spacer I found the casting has give in it that stopped the bolt being able to tighten enough for a truly stiff pole)

I have tried running tight w/o spring and HATE it or at least my lower back did. I currently run an AC pole, Wammer bracket w/ spring and nice and tight and its perfect to me, I do not need the spacer / dogbone piece with the AC, but can see where it may be a problem on the RR as it is cast at the bottom simular to stock i guess.

Would you not suggest running w/ spring, w/o spacer and tight?

I run a custom spacer with a spring. I keep making the pole tighter, and this is just my slow change over to no spring tight pole. I still have the stock pole bracket. I have picts on here some place of what I made.
