Well im the kinda guy that wont ride anyone elses ski... If i wanna try a ski Ill just go out n buy one.

Granted I do own a 781 foot rocket(bought site unseen), Ive just never riden any other aftermarket ski for comparison.

So at the Dells freeride this past weekend a member on here asked if i would take out his Gen II bob to tell me what I think about it. The bob was just minor bolts on except for MSD total loss n Novi 44s on a 760 motor. In all my rocket probably has about the same bolt ons but Im not running total loss or big carbs.

I tried to do a couple 180s on flat water n it was kinda a struggle on the boat n felt really squirelly as well.

Granted it mighta been the Bobs tune, but my 781 foot rocket had insane amount more power then this ski.

about the only thing i like about the ski was the foot holds since they were very easy to kick into.

Ironically i almost bought a bob before purchasing the foot rocket...

So i must say Im even more happy with my foot rocket now after riding a BOB... Now i guess ill have to try few other skis so i can see what else my rocket is better then :p

I agree that the bob hulls aren't exactly mind blowing. Keep in mind that ski was made in like 2011. Not terribly long ago but aftermarket hulls have come a long ways since then. And a lot of it has to do with the way the owner has tuned and assembled all the various parts of the ski like pump, steering, handle pole length, etc. Newer hulls like the hurricane are a night and day difference from older hand laid non-vacuum infused bobs. And that's awesome your 780 hits harder. Bummer the guy with the bob has a slower motor package.

yeah aftermarket skis are making huge upgrades every year that goes by

my foot rocket is a 2012 so not much younger then the BOB

I guess i assumed with all that money the guy spent on total loss n Novis that the ski would have arm ripping power... but sadly id rather ride my modded 650 X2 then ride a BOB again.

I am unsure what the poor running motor and pump set up has to do with the hull... The only way to compare hulls i would imagine is if the both skis have similar motor set ups that are both dialed in. Parts and bolt ons don't mean a thing if the motor is not dialed in...

We might have to meet up. I have a 781 in a bob gen 2. It's fun with a waveraider prop and no trim. I'm excited to see what it will do with a prop pitched impellor and trim this weekend. I'd love to try a foot rocket with similar drivetrain. A bob and freak are the only AM hulls I've riden but like the pop the bob has

Nvm just saw your location. I thought you said delta which is in CA but your way too far lol

I've got a Gen3 glass bob and have to say I really enjoy it. I think it has alot to do with the set up and when you get comfortable with it. I grew up on a 550 then my dad's fx1. Switching to this was a major change. It's fun, easy to toss around, and comfortable for me at least. I'd say the only downside to it is fitment. NOTHING wanted to line up in it. Once I got it together though, it's been a blast. :) I can't say any different on the bob versus other AM hulls though, as I've only ridden my bob.

If anyone wants a complete kawi powered Bob Gen 2 let me know I will be putting it up for sale VERY soon. I am looking to put a deposit down on a WDK Carbon Rip hull ASAP.

Going from one squirrelly aftermarket hull to another imho. You can get used to either but switching from one you are familiar with to the other is a nightmare.

I rode a ROK-R with a TPE 964 last weekend and I absolutely fell in love with it. It was like night and day for me. Within 10 min I looked better on that than my own ski. Hence why bob is going up for sale. With the ROKR i was able to actually hold it pinned for a bit and not get "bobbed off". That bubble in the hull makes for one sketchy boat at high speeds glad the Hurricanes don't have that. If i had more money Id def go with one of their hulls. I primarily ride flat water and chase boats btw. I wont be playing with this much in the surf, we only make a trip to Jersey once a year.
