Some really shallow pitting on one of the rod ends. Got new bearings with new pistons, runs great. Worry or no worries?

Have you talked to the guy porting your cylinders?

Having gone through a crank failure that cost me an expensive top end, I wouldn't run that.

Get a rebuilt SBT crank for $195.00 and save your reeds, cylinder, cases & more from being damaged. http://www.sbtontheweb.com/Merchant...ode=20-402&Category_Code=20-4&Product_Count=1

I may go the SBT route. For now I am thinking of robbing the good crank out of my WRIII. It is all the shop time involved that is killing me, I have every wire, hose, strap, clamp and tie routed cleanly and neatly buttoned down for once. Not to mention having to pull the pipe. . .
ugh

I sent the picture to Art, he says that if your nail catches on it is when you have to worry, and it is high RPMs that would kill it, not so much the occasional high rpms like I ride. I will probably replace it soon but keep riding (carefully) until then.

I'm wondering if I do it soon if I can avoid replacing the base gasket and brand new OEM crank seals?

You probably won't have to replace the crank seals (check with Art), but you will have to replace the base gasket.
