I argue this back and forth quite a bit. Here's my current stance; It's free and effective with little to no downside but at the same time, you really aren't going to miss it.
If it's all there and seems to be working, why not keep it. If it's missing components or in the way of you doing something else, ditch it.

Save it. The day your bilge wiring fries and you want the water out you'll regret the decision to yank it.

I epoxied a SS tube to the bottom of the bulk head 90'd it up and stuck the bilge hose to it...
Works perfect and it's not taking up any space. What my dual Rule 500's don't get the little tube just about sucks it dry.

might have to try that, my rule missed a good half inch.
