For 35 bucks, the jss hood seal is still working for me(granted its only been a year).

So what if it only lasts 2-3 years, the oem maybe would last 5? I refuse to pay 100 bucks for WEATHERSTRIPPING.

5 years? a stock hood seal should last WAY longer than that, easily. My hood seal on my 550 is still in working condition, I know the kid who has it. its an 86 and its fine. A few tears, but hey, its 20 years old.

I had a JSS seal for this past season.
I wasn't all that happy with it, but it -sort of- did it's job for one season.

I use an OEM one myself, but my mate bought a ski with the seal made from turf. Granted, it ain't too pretty, but it has a groove worn into it, and the latch pulls down hard.

Try as I may, I wasn't able to shift it while it was locked down. So, the moral is, if you need to get out there, try some turf. I don't know how long it will/would last, but it's another option.
