Surfriding RN Handpole Mod???

Looks like I'm gonna cut/shorten my stock handpole this week but looking for recommendations on how much to cut it down, was thinking 3 or 4".

I'm 6'1", 194 lbs. Motor on the ski is stock.

i cut mine down about an inch and could have definately gone another inch/inch and a half.. But i wouldnt recommend cutting too much at first, 4 inches is alot; that way you have the option of going back and cutting more if your not satisfied.

I like -4",... I am 6'1" and I run a -2" turn plate.

I think this depends on whether you ride surf stance/way up in the tray or just in the footholds...

Most start at -2 and test.
