rivet size

guys,

i am in the process of installing footholds.. getting ready to drill the holes thru the holds and the ski..

what size rivets do you use.. i currently have a 3/16 by 1/8... is that ok or should i go smaller ?

Also, do i need to removr the foam behind the wall ? will the rivet catch the inside of the ski with the foam there ?

i used 1/8 by 5/8 and they worked good.

have you considered just using the screw method and then just filling the screw holes? If you already considered it then cool... just didnt want you to do it the one way without knowing about the other way first...

I used the screw method, so I dont know what size rivet... or I would tell you for sure

Self tapping sheet metal screws work well then remove them and glass over.

screws are nice and easy, and thats all I have ever used but either way works.

I prefer screw+remove myself, but for sure 1/8 is too short. The rivet needs to go through both parts plus at least 1/8 past. Diameter-wise small is good, they only need to hold it in place till the epoxy cures. Foam behind where the rivet goes isn't a problem.
