I just sheared the motor mounts and drive shaft coupler doing a nose stab. Pics will come wednesday. It.......was......so......cool!

:cool2::woot::brap:

Now does anyone know what mounts to get and where, what coupler to get (Riva or stock), and what other parts and/or tools I might need to fix it?

I'm not really happy that my ski is broken and now I have to fix it.

But I do thinks it's cool that I had the balls to do something insane enough to break it!

%#@*!, I'm trying to stay positive!

I got the motor out yesterday but didn't have time to do anything else.

I'm going to try a huge pipewrench and a hammer. My bendix was going out anyway so I'll pull the flywheel and get a grip on that end instead of putting rope in the cylinder.

I consider myself lucky that the midshaft coupler and housing wasn't damaged.

Oh Yeah....Forget all the other comments I made......

THIS SUCKS!

I got it off by putting a puller on the flywheel, then putting the puller in a vise and using a huge pipe wrench and a hammer on the broken coupler.

It was actually pretty easy.

I gotta give credit to :hail:Kevin at legdrag.com for helping me out with parts and advice. He told me to use a pipe wrench and hammer, the "puller in a vise" part I came up with myself.:biggrin:

Oh trust me, I am. So what's the next most common damage done trying to freestyle? I figure I'll start preparing myself.

Check the flywheel key before you put it back together. I sheared mine holding the flywheel and using a breaker bar on the coupler. Didn't know it until I was at the water...it wasted a day. :banghead:

Thanks WAB, I checked it when I replaced my bendix (it was starting to give me problems). I put the engine back together last night and mounted it in the hull (with kenny keepers!). Tonight I'll put everything else back together and hope and pray I did it right and it all works on Saturday.
