Other Riding?

After not riding most of the summer, again........... I went to Gil's Not So Wild Ride.

Hung out, rode a decent amount. Enough that I am sore as hell.... Even tried the impossible........... No, not a back flip, to teach Gil to Roll. I did everything short of hoping on his ski and trying a tandam roll.

But, as much fun as it was. It was not like I had missed riding any.

Am I just over done? (Burned out?)

I honestly feel like if I never rode again that I would not miss it much. I guess after 20 years of riding. Rec Riding, Racing, Competing in AM Freestyle (2 - 3rd Place Finishes at Nationals), Freerides. Traveled to Texas twice, Daytona....... It is like there is nothing else left.

So with that.................

Dont even think about it, not parting my SJ out before anybody starts asking and the vultures start circling....

Interests change. Don't feel bad about it. I've lost interest in just about every hobby I ever took up in relatively little time. The only exceptions thus far have been standups and guns. One going strong for six years, the other eight years.

Sorry bout that. It's gone now. I'm going aftermarket primarily because I get bored on flat without going big. I'm addicted to surf, but I'm too far away. So I need to compensate.

I started to feel that way when I lived by the river. But since moving to Jacksonville and having access to surf, my passion has returned!!! Plus riding with really good riders also inspires me to push myself as well...and there are plenty of them around here. Would love to live in So Cal but looks like extended VKs there is all i can do.

That part of the problem, not having anybody to ride with.

Buddy I usually rides with does not ride once football season comes in. I can drive an hour and go ride with Tricky, but that is 2 hours of driving just to ride. Gas = $. I have a ton of guys to go Mountain Biking with at any time. Makes it a pretty easy choice!.

I was going to say this but you covered it first. The primary reason I still do jetskiing is because I have friends to ride with. I also love mountain biking, whitewater kayaking, scuba diving and many other sports but without anyone to go with, I lose interest incredibly fast. It's less about not liking the sport and more about not liking it by myself.

man you nailed it!. Having a couple guys to push you makes all the differance. If it wasn't for the local guys I ride with I'd still be going around in circles doing subs boared outa my face. And the big west coast winter surf keeps it exiting...

I hate riding by myself. The few times a year that I do it, I get bored within a half hour max and pack up.

Same here. I live on the lake and typically don't even ride during the week because there are almost no boats and no one to ride with. Even on the weekend when there are boats, I ride about 1-1.5 gallons worth of fuel and call it a day.

Sounds like we need to head to Alabama and do some group therapy on u BK. Or bring the family to Macon and come ride with us for a weekend. I'm thinking of moving off the lake but won't give up my ski. Its a great diversion for me. Mtb for winter and jetski's from spring to late fall.
