Riding spots around Boynton/Delray..... Daytona?

Location

Hey yall..... :cool2:

I'm going to be down in the Boynton/DelRay area next week, are there any good spots to ride SU's relatively close? I'm looking for somewhere safe to ride and where I won't get myself into trouble. Previously I've only ridden in some smaller lakes & canals down there. I've seen Boynton Inlet and I think its one I'd rather stay away from, anywhere else better?

Also, what's the deal with Daytona? My original plans was for on the way down was to spend a Sat. there to ride, but it seems hella expensive. You can't buy a single day pass? I don't need to have a monthly pass.... I will only be there for a DAY. Unfortunately... :frown: Just adds up to too much $$$ after all the passes I'll need, skis, vehicle, etc. for my vaca budget..:17: Any ways around this? Like am I reading this right?

Thanks,

Ken

go to sebastian. its between daytona and palm beach. just pay to get into sebastian inlet state park for the day and you launch from a calm beach on the intracoastal just a jop, hip and a skump away.

Sounds like a plan.... Thanks SFL. I think I'll stop and spend the day there on the way down Sat. the 8th. At a @ 2hr drive from where I'll be staying I don't think I go there during the week though. Any other places closer to where I'll be staying to hit during the week? Lake Worth any good? Or anywhere near Barton Park?

Thanks,

Hey Ken,

Are you wanting to stay away from the boynton inlet because of how tricky it can be to navigate? (strong currents, very narrow, traffic) Its not that bad and if you've ridden in surf before, its actually fun. Sadly the closest boat ramp charges $10 on weekends. There is a group that drop bouys just south of the inlet - ocean-side (usually on Sundays).

If you want, hit me up (pm me) when you get in town. I (we) ride all the time and you're more than welcome to hang out (I ride SJ & B1). Mostly around Singer Island and Jupiter (1 and 2 inlets north of Boynton). We can even ride from inlet to inlet as long as you have a reliable ski and can handle re-fueling on the water (bring oil) with stand-ups. If you have twin 48mm...you ain't gonna make it.

As for lakes and canals , I stay as far away from them and can't help you there. The ocean/surf is too beautiful to neglect. If you want fresh water, I can hook you up with a hose.

Exactly. I'm still a little green with these things, adventurous but not stupid.

I appreciate the invite, I definitely will try to catch up as long as I won't hold you guys back.... I'm not sure how long I can go without gas though, never had to worry before where I ride. I have a RN SJ with mild porting, Bpipe, single carb (don't know what size) and a 650sx with Coffmans pipe, 44mm.

I'd rather no canals also. = ) you become more of a nuisance and it's not fun.

Thanks Sanford, I'll send a pm late next week.

We Freeride, not race and as long as "we" have fun no one is holding anyone back :cheer:

I'm also on a single (46mm) and you should be fine (me = SN/SJ). But runnin from inlet to inlet is optional...its just fun because we try to kill each other on the way or run the other into the sand shore while at WOT :AR15firing:.

If surf or beach candy is present, we stay put and jump.
