Hey everyone! My buddy wants to buy a Starter Kit Rickter XFS or FS-2 and put all his parts off his SuperJet in it, how well does everything bolt up? He loves doing Barrel Rolls and Back flips on his SJ, so that points towards the XFS but is the XFS ski capable of going over 30-40 mph chasing Yacht Boats or is it just too short of a hull? How fast can you go on the XFS ski and still keep it under control? We mainly ride Flat water. What are the Pros and Cons to the XFS vs FS-2?

IMO flatwater only XFS, but it is not a rec boat again IMO. chasing wakes is fine but will take a little getting used to, guys are now riding them in surf, but it take a little skill. If hes doing BR and BF hell get used to it, go for xfs

I had a fr2 that i used as a rec ski.Sold it and got a xfr for lake and surf rec riding Love it.I change the ride plate to the long one for surf and ride the short one for lake.I love this ski but it does take some getting use to when WFO across the lake.

Old thread but Im in the same question.
Im going to buy a XFS or other short hull but as I use mine as a rec ski, following my friends to the island and beaches, Im a little worried to let my 2012 Sj to go away.
I dont want to have 2 skies as now I have a strong sofa (FZR moded) to make some long cruises.
lmk any feedback.
thanks

Well my buddy ended up getting a xfs and we put a JM 771 in it, he is still getting use to it. It does do backflips fairly easy, but he doesn't have the high speed handling down yet to chase fast yachts. Here's the build thread : http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/121051-Okie-XFS-771-Build

The FR-2 EVO came out right after he got his XFS, I have not ridden one, but I think it would make a better all-around boat and still be better at freestyle then the SJ. With the new top deck design it looks pretty amazing.

If you live in the states I would buy your rickter from TCfreeride.com, Taylor is awesome to deal with and he know alot of these hulls and how to assemble them.

Thanks.

I already spoke with TC. Im still deciding about it.

+1 on TC Freeride - very knowledgeable and helpful.

TC was very helpfull to me but since Im based in FL, where I go frequently, and also Thrust is where I get all major parts, I may stick will them. Chris and Brian deserve it.

Also the logistics is easier to deliver to Brazil.
