rickter vs. superjet floatation in surf

i know the saying... NEVER LET GO.... in the surf but once in awhile it just happens..
So was wondering does anyone know if the EVO FR2 has a better chance of sinking faster than the superjet or the superjet sinking faster than the rickter??
assuming part for part is the same on each ski..
learning barrel rolls and i do ok half the time with back flips..so im sure an occasion ski and me will get separated..
wanting to go to a rickter but need to know the pros and cons of the EVO before i purchase one
many opinions i can get would be greatly appreciated..thanks

Do some search yourself before you post a question. You can do it by using the search options toolbar on the X.

The hulls is the most expensive piece you will buy, yet the most important one. So far my favorite surf hulls are: Krash-Predator, Rickters, Aquabot V2, and Trinity Matrix.

In regards to sinking, you ride with others to prevent such calamities. I bet youtube has some videos. E.G

Rickters will float just about as good as a SJ when swamped in salt water. I have never sunk mine, but helped drag in a swamped FS/FR2 in daytona 2 or 3 years ago. Adding a pool noodle or two in the motor bay isnt the worst idea if you ride where a long tow could be required. The scupper on my FS2 was a total piece of trash. I capped it off with a aluminum plate and mounted the smallest versiplug on the plate. My ski has been thrash by waves upsidedown and still started up fine.

Skip the evo and go for the edge. better surf ski IMO. Although flotation is important for surf application, you should consider other criterias as well..
Overall, Rickter is far superior hull than SJ.
evo without sponsons slides A LOT.
edge carves A LOT.

evo without sponsons slides A LOT - Wrong!!! You aint riding it properly mate. If you keep it flat it slides, if you ride it with a bit of agression and dig the sponsons in she grips like sh*t to a blanket.

I have both Evo and Edge. Try the edge and then we can talk about carving... They are both great hulls, but yet they ride completely different. IMO Edge is a better surf boat. Back to Op's question, Edge tray is made of thick solid material and it has foam in it.
