Rick Roy Handlepole

anyone out there tried the Rick Roy Handlepole setup on an sx-r? maybe a superjet? wondering if it's worth the money for freeride and freestyle.

will it take a big surf thrashing? also any specific difference between the single tube breather bracket and the double tube, other than the increased air flow? would it be safe to assume that a single tube bracket would be the choice for freestlye setup inorder to minimize water intake during manuvers?

I think the majority or riders here use the X-metal setup. It works great, has an unbeatable warranty, and looks the best. It also is priced the best. The dual breather setup flows more air.

i'm running that set up on my '96 sxi. it has the lustic freestyle kit which for all intense puposes is an sj setup. the rrp pole gives the option to adjust the pole which means you can beat it down in a more aggressive fashion or raise it back up for when your just bummin around. that said is the product worth the 1000 bones old rick's askin for, and am i willing to part with it is another story. kinda why i wanted some input from anyone who might have had a chance in running that setup or even tried it out.

i really like the rick roy set up, but im unwilling to pay the premium they want. Ronny has some really good shots of some racers and freestylers from world finals, you can go to malones web site and see ronnys pics of his set up.

I recently rode a SJ with one and loved it, it is tested and proven to be the strongest pole on the market. It is more expensive but you get more bang for your buck. And it also flows just as much if not more than the XMW if you go with the dual breather.

600 bucks for x-metal set up and 1200 bucks for rrp set up, thats just to much of a differance for me to consider it.

I looked at the x-metal setup on a SJ last week with the dual breather. What I was wondering is where do you put the hood hooks for the SXR if you do not use your stock mount? If you do use the stock mount then it's only a single setup, and it seems like the tube on the RRP or X-Metal would have to bend quite sharp to go from one side to the center. Any feedback?
