I've never done them before, but i'm not finding it to bad so far. With all the tips and forums on this site, ya feel pretty knowledgable.

Both holds cut and fitted, now time to start epoxyin and glassin!

keep us posted with the pics man. Im in the air with getting the revs. The only reason im questioning is becuase of the install with such big holds.

REVs are awesome, run them in both my SN and 750
well worth the tiny extra hassle of the install

will do!

I have a question for anyone here that has worked with the blowsion glass kit.
The thickener (white powder stuff) that comes with it....what kinda ratio should i be mixing this with the epoxy to make it into a 'glue viscosity', for lack of better words.

The instructions sent with it are kinda unclear and i wanna make sure i mix it in properly to ensure proper adhesion! Don't want those suckers comin out.

Can anyone help?

More progress, including the hood mod i did a couple weeks ago, bars ready to go on once i turf the chin pad, and more holds!

alright i have another question before the next step.

Should i foam then glass, or glass then foam? My biggest concern is making sure there is proper support beneath the hold, seeing as there is no overlap from the hold to the bottem of the tray (obvs i'll reinforce this will several layers of glass). I also want to sand and smooth the back edges of the hold, also cause they don't have an overlap.

so could i get away with using wax paper and duct tape to seal off any open spots, then go ahead and foam. That way i can sand and smooth everything, then glass?

Whats the best way in your guys' experience?

glass then foam, but leave a vent up top so it doesn't blow apart the hold. In my opinion, i'd just glass if i had them to do again. The SXR is all open to water in the tray area, and the 2 part foam holds water so....Glass it good and be done with it. Just my 2 cents

i was kinda thinking about that, but my big concern is how strong they will be. They seem like they are shaped decent, but seem weak. Figured 2 part foam would strengthen them a fair bit

It will, but you could so the same with fiberglass. I didn't do it on mine yet so it's just an idea, but I do know some builders do it.

Well i guess i'll just glass them out then see how strong they feel. I have the two part foam already so i'll probably just do it to play it safe, easier now then later!

Thanks for the input

just be careful to have extra weep holes for the foam as it expands
It can push the foothold out or even crack the hull as it expands

Good idea, maybe i'll put an extra hole in the actual hold if i end up foaming. I have two holes drilled in the rails right now.

I did not foam behind my Trinity footholds. They are SOLID!!

Are the Trinity's fairly thick though? I can't believe how thin/flexible the revs are. They make a cracking sound if you put any kinda tension on them :ugh2:
