Restrictor in fule line return?

Putting this ski back together, carbs are Riva Pro Series 48's. Question is - do I need a return line restrictor? My first inclination is yes, but I didn't find one in the line when I pulled the assembly apart a couple months ago, so I am wondering now. If I put one in there and it wasn't necessary, will it affect anything?

What size - 60 - 70 I was told, and I only really need one,right? T-ing the two return lines together to go back to tank, figured I'd put the restrict right after the T.

Pull the carb fuel pumps and see if the carb return jet bleed is drilled out, if so... yes you a inline restrictor, if not drilled out, then no you don't need one.

What is the easiest way to put a main jet inline to restrict the return?

I actually put mine right in the nipple coming off the tank where the hose connects, perfect fit for a main jet. I just threaded it,and screwed it in, and the hose slides right over it. You actually can just screw the jet in it will tap the plastic itself.

Hey, SUPERTUNE where is this return jet bleed? is it in the carbs or somewhere else? where should i be looking?

why is this needed,

Take off the 4 screws that hold the fuel pump on, remove pump and rubber gasket against the carb body, now look inline where the return top fitting is on the side of carb and there should be a very small hole drilled into the carb body right above where the internal filter goes, if it been drilled out for an external restrictor the hole would be about 3/16. This is not for piggyback single pump dual carbs! (like stock RN SJ 38's)

A little time has passed since I got the advice but thanks all. I screwed a 70 pilot jet right in the fuel tank return nipple and it works great.

Jake's (Experimental's) machine is a beast compared to mine, runs great. Mine's good too, but I think I don't have the pipe tuned up for low end though.

Should see folks at the Lake Ozark Invasion. '01 and '02 SJs on a metallic silver trailer with official collegiate soccer field artificial turf for the bunk carpets (the good thick stuff).
