Resistor style plugs for Advent CDI's?

Am I supposed to use resistor plugs (BR8ES) or non-resistor plugs (B8ES) with these ignition boxes? I hate to fry another one.

Might as well use the resistor type, there is no downside to them.

Those were my thoughts as well. I'm just trying to make sure I don't mess another box up.

How did your previous Advent fail? Did you send it back to Advent? I'm just trying to keep track to see if there are any manufacturer-based failures or are all the ones lately user-created. Mine just went, but it turned out to be my fault. I cut the water injection lines short (not using them) and shorted out the power supply (while riding, two of the wires in the water injection touched each other).

Yes, you do need to use resistor plugs AND resistor caps. Br8es or br7es and the NGK 5K rubber plug caps! Set sparkplug gap to .024

its just with electronic gear the less electrical interference the better

Back when I had my Seadoo XP DI, I inadvertently ran resistor plugs instead of the non-resistor plugs recommended.
It messed up the ignition badly...it sputtered, and could not get to full speed.
