Resin filler ?? (Carbon/kevlar or chopped mat)

I have some extra small pieces of carbon & kevlar that I was thinking about cutting up and using as filler in the resin. Would this be better (stronger) than using chopped mat or is there any drawbacks to it?

Thanks,
Luke

I would never use kevlar as a filler.
It will be a pain to sand, you will sand only the epoxy. The kevlar will stay where it is in fuzzy strands.

I just reinforced my engine compartment before the JK Ragger. Blowsion gave me small strands of Kevlar for use as filler. It worked out real good and sands pretty good also.

I guess I used the wrong term with filler. I am in the process of putting new motor mounts in my B1 for an 1100 and am building up the base and glassing in the plates to mount the motor mounts to. So I'm wanting something to make it stronger than just resin.

I think I would use an epoxy glue, and then lay glass or carbon fiber over that.
id do that too but after epoxy glue to hold it all in place... id do mat and resin around the mounts... then after doing a layer id do 1 BIG sheet over the whole bottom and just cut the holes out for the mounts to fit through. then glass that sucker down hard and it will look mint!
