You need a vest,
helmet,
fire extinguisher (only for registration),
ski registration.

It's a good idea to have front and rear tow loops,
tow rope that you can access in a hurry,
hood straps,
limiting rope.

Your usual riding gear and you should be good to go.

The lifeguards will tell you that you need the following to be within the law.

Lifevest
Helmet
Front Tow loop
whistle

I know that everything except the helmet is what the USCG requires, the local beach patrol require the helmet. They prolly won't be there and most riders don't wear a whistle but it is a good idea to have one. The Volusia county beach patrol will be the ones there watching out for us and they are usually pretty cool. Common sense will be the best thing anyone can be sure and bring along next week.

Life Vest is standard PWC approved vests.

I understand that anything that says US Coastguard approved Type 1,2,3 or 5 is acceptible for PWCs.

Yes Rags, thay are strict about it. You really need to be able to tow or be towed in. Use anything avalable to make a loop.

Whistle can be attached to the vest.

honestly in 1ft or even 10ft surf being towed is not nessesary at all..in fact its more dangerous than just swimming your ski in..if my ski breaks i deal with it my self even when its sunk rather than putting somone else in danger like when robert got his hand filleted..not saying not to run loops but i dont run them for saftey reasons myself like getting a limb or finger stuck in one..and riding with a tow rope on your waist is a bad idea too imo..
